Saturday will include a technical/philosophical tour of Welcome to 1979, a lathe room demonstration, and a demonstration and discussion of recording techniques specific to vinyl formatting. Then we’ll discuss set up options for Sunday focusing on direct-to-disc requirements.

Sunday we will be executing our direct-to-disc recording. Welcome to 1979 is one of the only studios in the world that can record directly to a vinyl master! This is a hands-on workshop, so come prepared to learn while doing! After discussing the direct-to-disc experience with the band, we will tour our new vinyl electroplating facility.

We are excited to announce the band that will be coming in and recording direct-to-disc for Vinyl Camp 2017! We’ve got the Cut Throat Finches coming to us from Ft Worth, Texas. They are a rock band with a big sound signed with our friends, Hand Drawn Records. We are going to be cutting and plating the record and then sending it back to Hand Drawn for pressing!
