As you can imagine, we live and breathe vinyl here at Welcome To 1979. We buy and listen to vinyl records all the time, and the vast majority of the artists who record here release their projects on vinyl. So we took the massive step into cutting vinyl masters (technically called “lacquers”) right here at Welcome To 1979.
Why? Because we love it when records sound awesome and hate it when they sound bad. Pretty simple, huh?
You’ve never had a release on vinyl? Awesome!
You’ve done it a hundred times? Awesome!
Either way, we’re here for you- every step of the way.
Our lacquer cutting room is comfy and we would love it if you wanted to come by as we cut your record. We even have a couch and a coffee table for you to set your coffee (or adult beverage) on while you watch this amazing process unfold. Can’t make it in person? No sweat. Whether you’re here or not, we’ll take care of everything and keep you in the loop as best we can.
You have questions? Fire away. We’ve got the answers. The vinyl process can be complicated and confusing – we’re here to help!
You’ll see a Hightail link for you to send us your files, as well as the payment link for payment and we’ll start mastering!

This is for the artist who’d like to experience more during the vinyl mastering process. We’ll take the files (or tapes) you send us and our Cutting Engineer will maximize your project for vinyl. You will also receive a set of custom Reference Lacquers, and we’ll also quality control your Test Pressings with you by giving them a listen with our highly trained ears to compare them to your original fines in the same room they were cut to ensure your project is the best it can be.

Single Malt Whiskey
This is the ultimate vinyl experience. The vinyl mastering process can be very creative and approached many different ways. The Single Malt Whiskey package gives our vinyl mastering engineer the time to review your music and actually take two completely different approaches on your project. Best of all, you’ll receive a set of reference lacquers for each version so YOU can choose which one best suites how you’d like your record to sound. This eliminates any second guessing on decisions, and allows you to hear the differences versus having it explained via phone or email. That’s why it’s the ultimate vinyl experience.
12″ & 10″ $1,200 7″ $650
